Next up for the antenna tower project... with the tower standing tall and gleaming in the sunshine, it was time to install the rotator and mast. My brother in law was so kind as to give me a controller for a Yaesu G-1000, so I only had to buy the rotator itself. Before raising the tower, I had placed the mast inside it with the idea that I could attache the rotator while it was on the ground and lift the whole assembly inside the tower then put the shelf under it. Turns out that the rotator can fit inside the top tower section, but only at certain points. It cannot pass clean through it. So, we had to adapt by taking the rotator back off the mast and lifting it separately outside the tower. Everything worked out in the end.
